You Think You KNow...

History

11:51am: Com si com sa
Today is a rather lethargic day...my boss is out, Norman is out, my other boss is in NC and my other co-worker, well, he is here but his brain is not, nor was it ever, lol.
So today i decided to go over Norman's work and I fixed like 90% of his mistakes in an hour...I still think his analysis isn't that great, but oh well. My other co-worker has an interview today with some other company...hmm, that gets me thinking should I start looking again? The business world of today seems to have very little loyalty. People come and people go, there is no shame in that... Even corporations use people as robots and everyone is replacable. But what makes a job a good job in a business setting? It seems that so many people work a "regular" job as opposed to their "dream" jobs... I work with so many people who wanted to be singers, instrumentalists, actors, doctors and everything else in between. Some people I worked with wanted to be actors and actually one guy did play peter pan on broadway when he was young...I think he is so very talented but unfortunately he said the show-biz world is too competitive and he just couldn't break in and he needed to make $$$ cuz he is married now... but yet he settled for a business job cuz it is comfortable, gives you a steady pay and health benefits etc...unfortunately, sometimes reality just gets in the way for all of us. as for me, i have no idea what I will be doing...I wish I could just drop everything right now and travel the world, but unfortunately my parents would be struggling financially and they need me to help out, my school bills need to get paid and so I am a prisoner of life...bummer.

Aside from that, I tried studying for the GMATs again but this test is hard and stupid...here is a sample question:

Topic: Data Sufficiency
Directions: Please pick which statement(s) would be the most sufficient to defend the argument:

[A] Statement 1 alone is enough evidence
[B] Statement 2 alone is enough evidence
[C] Both Statements are needed
[D] Either one statement is enough
[E] None. Need more information.

Argument: Did John go to the Beach yesterday?
Statement 1: If John goes to the beach, he gets a tan.
Statement 2: John has a tan.

Answer: This is actually the most difficult level...the answer is you need more evidence so [E]. Just b/c John has a tan, he could of gotten it somewhere else, not the beach. I got this right, but then again I have to take the GMATs again so I know about these tricky questions...lol, the more I study the less motivation I have cuz this test is stupid, gettin an MBA is stupid but in a corporate setting it is what counts... we have this Director of Marketing here who is dumb as dog sh*t and each director has a bio written about themselves well she said that she graduated from Kean university with some mickey mouse major, lol...but the funny thing is that she graduated 13 years ago and back then it was Kean College not University...it is funny how she said Kean University and not College...but when you talk to her you can see how stupid she is so I don't even need to know if she went to Kean University or kean college... but in addition to this, I also know some people who went to ivy league schools and are super snobby but aren't so smart either, they are just book smart but cannot connect reality and book smarts together, so it is a lost cause...so you just cannot win... We have been dealing with one of our internal lawyers to have her approve something for 2 months and the lady just said this week she will not approve the approach we have suggested because it is not plausible... aka, she doesn't want to read the documentation that I have prepared. She claims that she never got the paper work but guess what we have proof we sent it out b/f xmas...so my boss got angry and jumped through her to our VP and the guy said just go ahead and use our approach with or without her approval...

Aside from that Valentines day is approaching...it is the dumbest holiday that basically just says, "well let me just show you how much I like you just for 1 day out of the year", instead of everyday...I helped Akesh order flowers for his gf, I picked the most expensive ones, lol...ugh, once again he left today early, like after lunch, lol...oh well...Harry was really sweet yesterday, he brought me lunch all the way to work :O)
